Once in a while we will find our female crested geckos either moving into their lay boxes, digging, and on the rare occasion actually laying their eggs. One thing we will not do is bother the female while she is actually in the process of depositing the eggs in the medium. This is a pretty stressful time for the girl and our feeling is that the less distractions for her the better. We've watched the process a few times but the camera stays in the bag.
That was the case for our lovely 3 year old female Lola a few weeks ago. As we set up for feeding, I noticed her hiding in her lay box and slightly moving out of the corner of my eye. Well, the paper cups and CGD was put aside as we to advantage to observe nature at her finest! The process only took a few minutes and up came Lola in all her glowing red beauty.
At this point I just couldn't resist any longer. Out came the camera and little Lola did her finest runway modeling for a few quick snaps. You could just tell she was eating this up and giving me her full beauty.
Such a wonderful moment in time captured for us to enjoy.
