We have spent years refining our shipping process and take great pride in our ability to provide your new pet to you in the best health possible.
For animal purchases......
After verifying that you received the correct animals, open the deli cups and add the animals to their new home. We emphasize that new animals should always be quarantined and kept by themselves for at least 2-3 weeks to confirm that they are healthy and eating. Do not feed the animal the first day you receive them. It is far more important that you provide them a water dish and/or mist their enclosure as they need to maintain hydration.
First Meal - By far, the most frequent question we receive after selling animals is "Why is my gecko not eating". It is very common for geckos to delay eating for the first 2-3 or even 4 days. The animal has gone through quite a bit of stress in the shipment and should be allowed some time to settle in. Allow the gecko to get acclimated to their new home and do not handle them for at least the first week. To make sure they are eating, look for poop.
Introductions - After the quarantine period, if you would like to introduce your new pet to an enclosure that already contains an animal or two, there are a few things you need to consider. Of course, never introduce two males in the same enclosure as they will not get along. Males and females may be introduced with other females, but just like people, sometimes animals do not get along right away. You should watch your animals after introduction just to make sure they do not fight. One way this can be avoided is by moving all the decor around before introduction. You may even wish to switch the animals from one container to the other for a day before introducing them together.
